Business Troubleshooting
A business may be underperforming or
experiencing difficulties for a variety of reasons. Often business
owners would say that their business is ‘financially under-performing’;
this is probably a symptom, not the cause of the problem. You may well
find the problems prove to be less serious than you thought. But it is
essential that root causes are identified and corrected.
Why Business
Troubleshooting
Identifying the root-cause of your business problems is
difficult when you are in the ‘thick of it’. Correcting any business
problem requires the ability to first identify the issue or issues, to
develop a solution, to implement that solution, and to measure the
increase in performance to ensure success.
Business Troubleshooting
utilises a varied set of business skills including strategic thinking,
operational management, marketing and sales, staff and team behaviours,
and financial management. We draw on these core skills and apply them
with creativity and innovative thinking to develop a holistic solution.
The skills, experience and thinking to troubleshoot a large
multinational are not necessarily scalable to fit small and medium sized
businesses. A more practical, broad-spectrum, hands-on approach works
better, seeking solutions that fit the business not the text book
models. Where large businesses tend to be run purely to provide
financial returns to their shareholders, small and medium sized
businesses are often be run for different reasons such as lifestyle
choice, to continue a family tradition, or to pursue a particular
passion. Shareholders in large businesses are focussed on the rational
pursuit of profit whereas a small or medium sized business may be backed
by funds sourced from friends, family, and investment capitalists who
may exhibit a higher degree of political control and influence on the
business. These are factors that need to be considered when working with
smaller businesses.
We are able to offer a range of business
troubleshooting services from the intensive ‘all-in’ approach, to the
softer mentoring and retained service approach – and anything in the
middle. In short whatever provides the most benefit to you and your
business.
